It's the end of the year...
and we know it.
Well boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, kiddos, students, munchkins, troops, my dears... how many ways have I addressed you over the year?
It's the last day of your seventh grade year. We sure could not have anticipated the way this year ended! There are surely many things that we did not get to do. I am sorry for those of you who missed Outdoor Ed, spring sports, or end of year concerts. There are end of year traditions that I have that I miss, too.
Let's not write off the whole year, though. We did have the opportunity to do lots of things. We read interesting texts, we wrote and thought big thoughts. I hope you learned new things, made new friends, and grew in many ways.
I will miss you. I have been missing you for these many weeks. Teachers are supposed to be with kids, and this has been hard. It is temporary, though. We will get back to school eventually. We don't know what August will look like, but I do know that you will be eighth graders with a whole new set of things to learn. Stretch your selves. Read. Study. Think really hard. You will never regret it.
Until then, enjoy summer. Try to stay safe even though we are tiring of all these precautions. Get outside when you can. Talk to people. Read something longer than a tweet. And if you get bored, you can write to me. I would love some pen pals this summer. I will check my email pretty much every day.
Take care 7J,
Fondly,
Mrs. Riley
